Description
Learning beyond the classroom is one of the approaches to providing learners with authentic settings and supporting the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program. The book “English Educational Tourism and Creative Economy” offers an Edu-Tourism concept that combines English language education and tourism from a communal perspective. It is community-based learning that aims to promote the tourism and hospitality industry, accelerate the growth of the local economy, and open public access to language education. This book depicts the university-community partnership and collaboration in Edu-Tourism development, thus engaging the communal rehabilitation efforts to re-design and re-construct a potential site as a tourist destination. This book consists of five chapters and several sub-chapters. Chapter 1 provides information about EET and its relevance to English language education and the tourism industry. The following chapter, Chapter 2, describes the university-community partnership in EET development. Meanwhile, chapter 3 delineates the EET contributions to the growth of the local economy. Chapter 4 describes how to develop a communal area for EET, including the cultural challenges in its development. The last chapter concludes with the social facts and evidence for developing EET and provides future recommendations for EET researchers and developers. By reading this book, readers will find some innovative and inspirational ideas for building a community-supported English language education, increasing the welfare benefits of the locals, and promoting entrepreneurial tourism opportunities.
